After the spread of COVID-19, in the United States, hate crimes such as “Don't Ask Assault”, targeting Asian residents, have soared to the extent that so far about 4,000 cases have been reported annually. Eventually, on March 16, 2021, eight people, including four Koreans, were killed in a series of shootings in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

President Joe Biden signed the 'Covid-19 Hate Crimes Act' on May 20, 2021, and invited BTS to the White House on May 31, 2022 to raise awareness of Asian discrimination and prevent the increasing hate crimes against Asians.
